FAQ

WHO ARE WE?

Rapport Youth and Family Services is a community based organization whose mission is to strengthen the social and emotional well-being of youth and families through counselling and related support services.

WHOM DO WE SERVE?

We provide services for young people between the ages of 12 and 20 who are experiencing personal, social or family problems.

WHAT DO WE DO?

Rapport is staffed by professionally trained social workers, counsellors, and youth workers who provide a range of confidential services. Counselling times are arranged in advance and are generally held at one of our office locations in Brampton or Mississauga. Our outreach component allows for increased access by providing services to youth at convenient locations in the community, including schools across Peel Region and a drop-in centre in Brampton. Rapport's counselling services are available during the weekdays, and four evenings a week until 8:00 p.m.

WHO MAY CALL US?

Referrals are accepted by anyone concerned about a young person including other community agencies, teachers, parents, friends, or an adolescent him/herself.

HOW CAN A REFERRAL BE MADE?

Call (905) 455-4100 and ask for Intake. The Intake Worker will ask confidential questions related to the nature of the problem. Information can also be provided at that time about Rapport's services and programs, or other appropriate services in the community.

WHO GOVERNS THE AGENCY?

Rapport is a non-profit organization with charitable incorporation status. A volunteer Board of Directors representing a broad cross-section of the Peel community governs the agency. If you would like to become a member of Rapport, please download the membership application form and return it to Rapport.

HOW IS RAPPORT FUNDED?

Rapport receives it core operating funds from the United Way of Peel Region, the Region of Peel, and the Ontario Ministry of Children and Youth Services. Additional project funding support has been provided by The Ontario Trillium Foundation.

IS THERE A COST FOR COUNSELLING?

Clients of Rapport are not charged a fee for the services they receive. In order to help meet the ever-increasing need for Rapport's services donations are welcome. All contributions of $20 and over are tax deductible. Anyone wishing to make a donation can contact our head office at 905-455-4100 for information.
