ECLYPSE Youth Centres – Central Brampton

Poster

ECLYPSE (Experiential Centre Lighting Youths’ Paths Supporting Expression) has been operating since 1999 as a multi-service youth drop-in centre for 12-24 year olds living in Brampton. A number of local agencies collaborate in the service provision in the centre. Other agencies, to date, that have actively collaborated in the provision of services at ECLYPSE are: the Peel District School Board’s TELL (alternative education) program, the YMCA’s Employment & Community Services and Peel Youth Substance Abuse Program, Peel HIV/AIDS Network, Operation Springboard, African Community Services, Our Place Peel, Associated Youth Services of Peel’s R.A.I.N. Program, and Family Association for Mental Health Everywhere.

ECLYPSE receives ongoing funding support from The Region of Peel and The United Way of Peel.

The key objectives of ECLYPSE are:

  • To provide direct services to youth who would have difficulty with accessing services through the more traditional approaches in the social services, education, employment and health sectors.
  • To provide a healthy, non-threatening environment for troubled youth to socialize, learn and participate in constructive and growth-enhancing activities.
  • To promote increased collaborations amongst youth serving organizations to strengthen services in the Brampton area.

More about ECLYPSE:

All of our programs, events and opportunities are 100% free for youth between the ages of 12-24!

All of our centre spaces offer opportunities, workshops and other initiatives for youth to participate in and not only gain community service hours for, but to gain knowledge, skills and access in areas and opportunities that they may not have known existed to and for them. EYC runs over 20 + programs cumulatively in person , virtually and even hybrid. Our YAAV Programming stands for Youth Arts Against Violence; which is a social justice initiative for all on site arts based programming. This encourages youth to learn more about but also to speak on the social injustices in their lives, home countries or even present communities that affect them or others. Giving a voice to those who believe they are voiceless in their community through a variety of different art forums including but not limited to; visual arts, drama, music & movement, dance, writing, photography, spoken word and performing.

EYC provides support for over 3000+ youth annually throughout Peel Region and has even reached youth globally during the 2020 pandemic from Germany,  Brazil, USA and other areas both within and outside the Greater Toronto Area.

We thank you all for your undying support of the EYC Team, programs, events, initiatives, projects and youth opportunities.
